This is a short video overview of cycling the Silk Road with 6 gears mamachari city bikes, from Japan to Greece.
Didn't have in mind to make a video feature back then so most of the -hard- times when we were cycling I didn't shoot any videos (a few photos though), at least I was shooting short handheld clips here and there and managed to make this one. Will be making a few more story-style more specific videos about this trip in the future. In this cycling trip we passed through Japan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Greece.
Majestic landscapes, amazing people, weird food and interesting cultures!
Rodokalos gorge is situated in near Ypati, central Greece. As it was November the autumn colors were everywhere! Once again organized by Hellas Canyon. You can leave your cars here as here starts the path towards the gorge. This is the exit point as well.
Its a nice 30-40 min. hike up to enter the gorge from its middle. To do the full longer canyon you need a longer hike.
All the people participating on this activity had done some part of the canyoning academy and now we were going to make use of some of the technique we were taught.
Mood was uplifting and festive.
Its a beautiful gorge which includes a 30m and a 45m waterfall to go down.

Although when we arrived it was quite cold and a bit windy, the sun came out to warm us up and raised our spirits. Once again organized by Hellas Canyon, we met in Pelion, near Zagora to go for via ferrata and canyoning in a part of Galanorema gorge.

The via ferrata is not 100% complete, the canyoning rope will be replaced with a steel cable which is the essence of the modern via ferrata.

Of the rare moments I have a photo of myself with my camera, somebody thought it would be nice to have a photo of myself so he grabbed the camera and snapped a shot.

After the canyoning we all gathered in Manthos hotel, Portaria village. Apart of the warm drinks and food we would be presented with our progress certificates having completed the canyoning academy up to the autonomous level.

We had with us the guys who would come to our rescue if things were wrong, EMAK 8th division.
There was a nice presentation, everybody got their certificate up the canyoning academy level they had completed and then slowly slowly we took our way home!
