Cycling Tourkovounia (Athens - GREECE)


Athens, apart of being surrounded by three mountains, has quite a few hill ranges. One of them is "Tourkovounia" which means "Turkish mountains". Named due to a large Turkish cemetery that existed there during the Ottoman period in Greece. They are the tallest and most extensive hill range in central Attica, dividing the Attica basin into eastern and western parts. 


There are quite a few ways to go up, decided to go through here [38°01'11.4"N 23°45'59.8"E] where a nice dirt track leads up.

Apart of one hiker there were no people at all during our time there. Would be better to have a mountain bike due to the dirt track and you have to take care on the way down. Definitely a recommended ride during a nice day!

Ozora festival 2009, Hungary

The only festival I've been 3 times and I just cant get enough... and once again magic happened this last August of 2009 in the green valley of Ozora in Hungary... the most happy crazy wonderful beautiful people on earth gathered and we danced under the sun and shared all the good energy and smiles... this video is for all of you!!! Cycling to the top of mt. Hymettus (Athens - GREECE)

Athens is situated in the basin of four mountain, Mount Aegaleo to the west, Mount Parnitha to the north, Mount Penteli to the northeast and Mount Hymettus to the east. Hymettus stands at around 1.000m high and its a nice, beautiful and easy bike ride to the top.  On the way we passed by Kaisariani Monastery which dates back from the Byzantine times, constructed around A.D.1100, now in its restored form.  Monastery grounds were full of curious cats :)  Around halfway to the top found these funny birds which were quite bored to fly (!) but were going around walking :D  Another monastery from the 11th century A.D. named "Monastery of Taxiarches Asterion" is found at 545 meters, more than halfway to the top, a nice place for rest.  Almost to the top and we could see the radio antennas.  The view of Athens from the top was really great, had some rest and then headed back down as the rain was on its way... :)
