Silk Road cycling video (2012)

This is a short video overview of cycling the Silk Road with 6 gears mamachari city bikes, from Japan to Greece. Didn't have in mind to make a video feature back then so most of the -hard- times when we were cycling I didn't shoot any videos (a few photos though), at least I was shooting short handheld clips here and there and managed to make this one. Will be making a few more story-style more specific videos about this trip in the future. In this cycling trip we passed through  Japan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Greece. Majestic landscapes, amazing people, weird food and interesting cultures!

Iceland (2006) ~ 07. Laugavegur trek Day2

Day 2: Hrafntinnusker to Alftavatn (12km) Woke up around 07.00 from my excitement, had a look outside, everything was covered with snow but there was no rain! Breakfast and around 08.00 we depart, our destination today is Alftavatn which is 12km away.  My backpack is on the table and we are ready to depart. Leaving back Hrafntinnusker hut, it was a great place to rest.  The track descends to cross a stream then bounces over parallel rhyolite ridges and snow bridges before ascending steeply to a ridge studded with hot springs and fumaroles. At some point after crossing this field it started snowing. Going through the snow bridges we pass one by one, there is the danger of collapsing due to excessive weight.  Wanted to have a photo to really remember I was there in that amazing place. Morocco (2014) ~ Casablanca : arrival, hammam and breaking the fast

Fatima and Keuza, our lovely hosts in Casablanca. At the roof of their house, hanging the laundry.  Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco and our arrival point. Panoramic view of Casablanca from our roof.  Rooftop passer by.  The beautiful Morrocan house.  View from our balcony, residential area of Casablanca.  During the morning time it was nice to sit in the balcony and watch people going on with their lives.  Arriving we were presented with two djellabas, gifts from our hosts! Djellaba is  is a long, loose-fitting unisex  outer  robe  with full sleeves which is traditionally worn in Morocco and throughout the region. And the first place they took us what the hammam! The hammam we went is "Le Pacha", one of the most luxurious in the city. It would be a good introduction to go to an expensive one for the start and then try everything else (we did).
